(Oeuvres et lettres, Editions Gallimard, 1953) The luxury Pléiade Descartes deserves the inclusion of the 1637 Géométrie as well as the complete Gassendi Objections and Replies. Additional apparatus relating Descartes' mathematical discoveries to modern notation and providing additional background into his scientific research would also have been helpful.
